As the year begins and the road to WrestleMania starts to pick up, many eyes are turning to the eventual WWE 2K25 cover star reveal. With several major longtime and recently returning stars to choose from, one favorite may not even be currently under contract with the company. After being released when her contract expired, a return could be happening before the Royal Rumble for this potential WWE 2K25<\/a> cover star.<\/p>\n

Report of Becky Lynch Returning Could Signal WWE 2K25 Cover<\/h2>\n

Between his regular main event presence and being added to the WWE 2K24 roster<\/a> via his own DLC pack, CM Punk<\/a> may be the most likely star to grace the cover of WWE 2K25. However, another former WWE 2K cover star could be a favorite despite likely not being under contract with the company at this point.<\/p>\n

Becky Lynch has been a fixture of the company for several years, and she even graced the cover of WWE 2K20<\/a> alongside Roman Reigns. When her contract was due to expire on June 1, 2024, Lynch opted not to sign a new one and was effectively released from the company at that point. Since that time, Becky Lynch hasn’t shown up in AEW or any other wrestling company.<\/p>\n

There have been occasional reports in recent months that WWE expected to get Lynch back at some point, and that the gap could just be Lynch wanting time off to be with family. Lynch has one daughter with fellow WWE 2K cover star Seth Rollins that would’ve turned 4 late last year, so it makes sense for her to take the opportunity at a break to be with her child at that age.<\/p>\n

A new report from WrestleVotes<\/a> stated their sources confirmed that “Becky Lynch’s impending return will factor heavily into high-level WrestleMania plans as the road to Las Vegas begins.” This naturally makes a return ahead of the Royal Rumble seem set, and if so it would be just in time for the WWE 2K25 release date and cover star reveals expected late this month.
