Not even a day later, PlayStation&#8217;s live-service strategy continues to worsen as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-01-16\/sony-cancels-two-more-playstation-projects\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">a new report from Bloomberg<\/a> revealed that two more live service games were reported canned by Sony.<\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/jasonschreier.bsky.social\/post\/3lfvfm2febc2e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">report from Bloomberg&#8217;s Jason Schreier<\/a> revealed that Sony had axed two <em><strong>&#8220;unannounced games,&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> according to a company representative. were reportedly canceled, one being a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/god-of-war-pc-release-date-file-size-pc-system-requirements-and-features\">God of War<\/a> live service game at Bluepoint Games, known for working on the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Demon&#8217;s Souls remaster and another at Days Gone developer Bend Studio.<\/span><span id=\"input-sentence~3\"> This recent cancelation comes <em><strong>&ldquo;following a recent review&rdquo;<\/strong><\/em> at PlayStation Studios, in which a company representative stated that PlayStation will continue to develop and publish <em><strong>&#8220;both online and single-player games.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"input-sentence~3\">The company representative continued in their statement to Bloomberg, <em><strong>&ldquo;Bend and Bluepoint are highly accomplished teams who are valued members of the PlayStation Studios family, and we are working closely with each studio to determine what are the next projects.&rdquo;<\/strong><\/em> Thus far, PlayStation Studios have struck gold in the live service arena following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/helldivers-2\/review-a-refreshing-multiplayer-experience\">the global launch of Arrowhead&#8217;s Helldivers 2<\/a>, which, despite some recent issues, continues to dominate the multiplayer scene even in the wake of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-rivals\/review\">NetEase Games&#8217; successes with their superhero team-based PvP shooter, Marvel Rivals<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"input-sentence~4\">However, Firewalk Studios&#8217; Concord was the complete opposite of Helldivers 2, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/concord-to-stay-in-amazon-s-secret-level-tv-show-despite-shutdown\">which only lasted two weeks before the game was pulled<\/a>, and the studio shuttered in October 2024.
