Developer NetherRealm Studios released a brand new Mortal Kombat 1<\/a> gameplay trailer for the next guest fighter joining the legendary fighting game series. The trailer for the current Khaos Reigns expansion added multiple returning and new guest fighters<\/a>, which have been released in waves since the expansion’s release in September 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

The all-mighty Cimmerian warrior, Conan the Barbarian, from its 1982 film adaptation of the same name, “featuring the likeness of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger,”<\/strong><\/em> will be debuting in Mortal Kombat 1 as its next guest fighter. This next guest fighter will be leaving his homeworld to join Earthrealm and will be available to owners of the Khaos Reign expansion later this January, and players were treated to a first look at his Kombat abilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Conan the Barbarian was unveiled as the upcoming guest fighter joining Mortal Kombat 1, and his Kombat abilities were showcased alongside his signature Atlantean Sword. According to an official press release, “The master blade-wielder can perform complex maneuvers with the imposing steel weapon, including his intricate sword spinning and signature overhead chop to take down opponents with brute force.”<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The gameplay trailer also confirmed Conan’s Fatalities<\/a> and perhaps teased his Animality, which sees the Cimmerian warrior morphing into a bull before he decimates his opponents. For fighters who have yet to access the Animalities for Mortal Kombat 1, it’s available as a free update, which launched alongside the Khaos Reign expansion<\/a> last September.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lastly, NetherRealm Studios confirmed event details for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition: Season 2<\/a>, which begins with the Pro Kompetition Mexico tournament starting on 22nd February 2025. This tournament culminates at the Final Kombat World Championship, which is slated to begin in September 2025 as fighters go head-to-head for a $255,000 prize pool, which fighters can register and read more about on the tournament via the dedicated esports platform<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
