The first two original games from The Sims franchise, The Sims and The Sims 2, could be set to get re-releases as early as next week. In a new promo video for the series’ 25th anniversary, EA appears to tease the return of the classic titles.<\/p>\n
The promo video shows the logo for The Sims 25th anniversary, followed by a short sequence where the cursor clicks a “Time Travel” button depicted in the UI style of the older interaction wheel from the old games. <\/p>\n
For the longest time, both the original The Sims and The Sims 2 have been unplayable through official means, with neither game having received a digital release. However, according to Kotaku<\/a>, re-releases of The Sims 1 & 2 will launch on PC later this week and will include all the original expansions.<\/p>\n According to Kotaku, the games were also previously teased via some noticeable sound effects in a “Behind the Sims” presentation earlier this month.<\/p>\n The Sims 25th anniversary is set to hold a number of celebrations, including a large free update for The Sims 4, featuring over 70 new items for both Create-a-Sim and the game’s Build mode.
