This godly guide discusses what we know about Ares, including its card ability, top counters, best synergies, and some decks to insert the God of War in Marvel Snap!<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1iioson931\">Marvel Snap Ares Card Abilities Explained<\/h2>\n<p>Ares may have secured his place in the Greek pantheon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marvel.com\/characters\/ares\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">but within the realms of Marvel Comics<\/a>, this almighty character <em><strong>&#8220;was worshiped as the god of war in both ancient Greece and ancient Rome&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> until the worshipping of the gods was left to die at the hands of Zeus. The card&#8217;s design is straightforward to understand, and Ares could be comparable to other four-cost power gainers like Rescue and Jessica Jones.<\/p>\n<p>However, as Ares is an On Reveal card, it&#8217;s susceptible to being countered by Shadow King, Cosmo, and Shang Chi, being the top contenders to neutralize the card. (Picture: Second DInner \/ Untapped.gg)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Our early preview of Ares had us estimating that Ares would play very well with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-snap\/best-surtur-decks\">Asgardian fiery demon Surtur<\/a>, and given that Ares likes to hang out with the &#8220;big bois,&#8221; this deck pairs him with some high-powered cards for both cards to gain max power. Several cards can be played with Surtur and likewise with Ares to ensure Ares meets its condition and gains that extra power by pairing it with cards to spread out power, making it harder to counter against.<\/p>\n<p>This god-like deck from <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/cHV9z4IStPg?si=78qqjOfcWQczKYeZ&amp;t=777\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Marvel Snap content creator ReZ Snapper<\/a> is built around Surtur, and building lanes earlier can be achieved with Zabu to discount the four-Cost cards, especially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-snap\/best-attuma-decks\">Attuma<\/a>, in one lane with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-snap\/best-hood-decks\">The Hood<\/a> to destroy its negative power. Attuma, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-snap\/best-crossbones-decks\">Crossbones<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-snap\/best-black-panther-decks\">Black Panther<\/a>, and Ares can help Surtur gain power while using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-snap\/best-aero-decks\">Aero<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-snap\/best-magneto-decks\">Magneto<\/a> to move away from important locations for priority.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-snap\/best-black-swan-decks\">Black Swan<\/a> is added to reduce one-Cost cards to play on the final turn or during the mid-turns to get The Hood&#8217;s Demon and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/marvel-snap\/best-martyr-decks\">Martyr<\/a> on the board with Surtur or Attuma, depending on the turn.
