GOG has always offered a community voting element, but GOG Dreamlist promises to give fans a real impact on what games come to the site.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A high number of votes shows strong interest, which influences both GOG and IP owners,&#8221; GOG writes in its FAQ. While more votes can definitely influence GOG and franchise owners to bring ageing games to the platform, GOG says that, unfortunately, not every single highly-voted game will be added. <\/p>\n<p>GOG launched its GOG Preservation Program last November in an effort to keep older PC games playable &ldquo;now and in the future.&rdquo; Dreamlist expands upon the program, letting fans choose which games are likely to be included. <\/p>\n<div class=\"rsp-embed-container\" contenteditable=\"false\">\n<div style=\"left: 0; width: 100%; height: 0; position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.5%;\"><iframe style=\"border: 0; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IetvbdoeIhg?feature=oembed\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" srcdoc=\"&lt;style&gt;*{padding:0;margin:0;overflow:hidden}html,body{height:100%}img,span{position:absolute;width:100%;top:0;bottom:0;margin:auto}span{height:1.5em;text-align:center;font:48px\/1.5 sans-serif;color:white;text-shadow:0 0 0.5em black}&lt;\/style&gt;&lt;a href=https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IetvbdoeIhg?autoplay=1&gt;&lt;img src=https:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/IetvbdoeIhg\/hqdefault.jpg alt='YouTube video thumbnail'&gt;&lt;span&gt;&#9654;&lt;\/span&gt;&lt;\/a&gt;\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&ldquo;If a game is part of the Preservation Program, it means that we commit our own resources to maintaining its compatibility with modern and future systems,&rdquo; GOG wrote in an initial announcement.<\/p>\n<p>The Preservation Program launched with over 100 titles, including hits like Diablo and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/resident-evil\/2-release-date-gog\">original Resident Evil trilogy<\/a>. More games are set to come in the future &#8211; some of them decided by votes on the GOG Dreamlist.<\/p>\n<p>While vote counts are important on the Dreamlist, there&#8217;s also a more personal aspect to it.
