With a single elimination bracket format, the stakes couldn&rsquo;t have been higher.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finals day opened with the Knockout Stage where match-ups saw KTzn take on EWC winner Jafonso, nicolas99fc against Yuval, LJR Peixoto with Emre Yilmaz, and World Ranking No. 1 Abu Makkah duke it out against FacuCowen. For four hopefuls, it was the end of the road, but for Jafonso, nicolas99fc, LJR Peixoto, and Abu Makkah the next stop was the Quarterfinals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In what were sure to be some of the most entertaining matches of the night, the Quarterfinals saw the following match-ups:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jafonso vs. Obrun<\/li>\n<li>Nicolas99fc vs. Levi de Weerd<\/li>\n<li>LJR Peixoto vs. Stingrayjnr<\/li>\n<li>Abu Makkah vs. Vejrgang<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With the hard-fighting losing players now out of the tournament, but having secured their space at Worlds, it was time for the Semi-Finals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Obrun vs. Levi de Weerd<\/li>\n<li>Vejrgang vs. LJR Peixoto<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/CXeGBlNyquWRl7Z3IRlY2d_JsSe4a1jXrxpCmCi06-g\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMy82N2EwOTc5YjVlMjg5LUdpeVhrMERYQUFBeHc0TC5qcGc\" alt=\"67a0979b5e289-GiyXk0DXAAAxw4L.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">Vejrgang vs. Obrun would be the final showdown of the tournament. (Picture: EA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Both matches, though over in what seemed like a flash, were close. Victory was poised for either side, but ultimately our final showdown was:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vejrgang vs. Obrun<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Anders &#8220;Vejrgang&#8221; Vejrgang, the 19 year-old from Danish player for RBLZ Gaming and the FC Pro 24 World Championship, would face-off against the 23 year-old Italian player for exeed, Obrun2002. Both players were hungry for the trophy, but had approached the match with very different personalities. Vejrgang had arguably been the most animated of the tournament with plenty to say to the cameras, and the audience. In the end, it was Vejrgang who walked away victorious, with a 5:4 win. Claiming the EA FC Pro 25 Open Finals trophy, &#36;100,000 in prize money, and a fast-track to the World Championship and the FC 26 Pro Open.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There&rsquo;s been a lot of talk of when I lost the Final last year,&rdquo; Vejrgang said to us after his victory. &ldquo;So, I was really motivated for today. I&rsquo;ve beaten three really good players, and I had a really tough break. The last two games I could have easily lost&hellip; But I tried to stay calm, and in the extra time I think I had really good control.
