The ALGS (Apex Legends Global Series) is going from strength to strength. Having just wrapped up Year 4 in Sapporo, Japan, Respawn are set to kick off Year 5 with one of the largest events in ALGS history. The Year 5 ALGS Open will see 160 teams all competing for a chance to win a share of the $1 million prize pool.

The 160 teams will consist of 120 invited Pro League teams alongside 40 additional teams that will qualify based on their performance in the Preseason Qualifiers. Invited teams include the likes of TSM, Team Falcons, Alliance, Faze Clan, Dreamfire, and many, many more.

For anyone who has watched an ALGS event, you’ll know that they’re no small task. With the Open now introducing even more teams into the mix, you can be that there will be plenty of Apex Legends to catch across the four days.

The ALGS Year 5 Open will use a double-elimination bracket format, while keeping the ALGS’ famed Match-Point format for the Finals.

Five teams from the ALGS Open will qualify for the Midseason Playoffs. According to Respawn, “Regional performance at the Open will also impact the number of teams from each region competing at the Midseason Playoffs.”

ALGS Year 5 Open Format
