Developer Neowiz announced a prequel expansion to their action RPG release, Lies of P<\/a>, during the PlayStation State of Play presentation back in February 2025, much to the excitement of players globally. The game garnered mostly positive reviews upon its release in 2023<\/a> and was praised for its compelling narrative, combat systems, enemy and level design, and atmospheric score.<\/p>\n While the game’s ending certainly teased either DLC following the events of the base game or a possible sequel, the developers announced a prequel DLC, Overture<\/a>, set before the events of Lies of P. This narrative detail was explained in an interview with game director Choi Ji-won, who spoke about the prequel’s relation to the base game, what players can anticipate narrative-wise with the DLC, and talked about his experiences with Elden Ring Nightreign.<\/p>\n
