According to the publisher Bandai Namco, the developer had sold over 28.6 million copies globally, officially seeing Elden Ring <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZhugeEX\/status\/1868133441243394315\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">surpassing the Dark Souls series, which sold 27 million combined units<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>More recently, Elden Ring has amassed 30 million copies sold according to a social media post on 28th April 2025, which, between December 2024 and April 2025, around 1.4 additional units were sold. This will likely see a massive surge in sales following the developer&#8217;s announcement during the Nintendo Direct that the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 console.<\/p>\n<p>Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition was announced as part of <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_t34cyaGjJA?si=kVBDsGn95iAMM7UE&amp;t=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the Nintendo Partner Spotlight for the Switch 2 console<\/a>; however, no official release date was confirmed other than its 2025 release window.
