Among Us’ path to one of the biggest games of the year is a long one, two years after its initial release it found its audience after the world’s biggest streamers began accusing each other of being imposters.<\/div>\n
The extra attention set to the developers, Innersloth, into overdrive on a sequel with the developers initially revealing that the aptly named Among Us 2<\/a> wouldn’t be out until the latter half of 2021.<\/div>\n

However, that has all changed now, in a 23rd September blog post<\/a> they revealed that plans for Among Us 2 are scrapped with the focus now on improving and developing more content for the original game.<\/div>\n
“Seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level,” explained Marcus “PuffballsUnited” Bromander.<\/div>\n
“All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1.”<\/div>\n
Bromander also explained that the original reasoning behind the decision to begin work on Among Us 2 was due in part to the antiquated codebase in the original having previously described<\/a> the thought of adding more content to the latter as “terrifying”.<\/div>\n
“This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it.”<\/div>\n
