The organisation’s arrival into the esport is another sign of strength for Riots Game and shows the apparent weakness of rival CS:GO’s North American scene.

The news is not exactly a surprise as sources last week told Rush B Media that NRG Esports was looking to create a roster around daps and Sam “s0m” Oh, with former 100 Thieves coach, Chet “Chet” Singh, reported to be a part of the team as well.

The two are returning to the organization, as they were previously played on the NRG roster when it was active in CS:GO. The duo, alongside the rest of the squad, would then move on to play under the Evil Geniuses banner in September of last year.

There is still no confirmation about s0m being part of the roster, but it may be just the organization is waiting for the proper moment. His current team Gen.G recently withdrew from IEM New York, which could point to upcoming roster changes.

Believing that s0m’s announcement is just a matter of days, it would mean that the team needs three more names to complete the team.

This isn’t NRG’s first foray into Valorant having signed former CS:GO and Apex Legends pro Brandon “Ace” Winn as a content creator.
