Soon after, the video was removed, probably because it was breaching some kind of NDA the rapper has with Xbox, but at that point, people on the internet have already spotted it and started sharing it further.<\/p>\n
In the video<\/a>, we can see a huge, full-sized refrigerator looking exactly like an Xbox Series X unit, which is a meme Microsoft fully embraced and turned it into a marketing tool for promoting their next-gen console.<\/p>\n At one point Snoop Dogg opens the fridge and we can see that it’s fully stocked with various food and drinks.<\/p>\n The fridge is filled with water and juice bottles, and a few bottles of Snoop’s own gin brand, Indoggo. These are references to a rapper’s song “Gin & Juice”<\/a>, the second single from his debut album Doggystyle.<\/p>\n Then there’s some meat and eggs packages, all neatly packed inside.<\/p>\n The central place is occupied by the most noticeable thing, a Series X-like birthday cake with a message written on it: “Happy Birthday to the Xbox OG”.<\/p>\n And behind the cake, it looks like there’s an actual Xbox Series X console. An unusual spot to place it, but we guess that is not a part of a new cooling system for the console.<\/p>\n Xbox Series X-themed birthday cake and some customized Xbox bling were in the fridge, among other things (Picture: Snoop Dogg)<\/span><\/p>\n The American cultural icon celebrated his 49th birthday on Tuesday last week, and Microsoft seized the opportunity for some good marketing ahead of the release of their next-gen consoles.<\/p>\n The video appears to be filmed in a green-screen filming studio, where he was probably filming a commercial which will appear at a later date, and therefore Snoop most likely broke an embargo by posting the video prematurely.<\/p>\n Snoop Dogg is a well-known fan of video games and an avid gamer. A month ago, he was playing Madden 21 with Dr Disrespect<\/a>, and he is one of the celebrities often seen visiting E3, like that one time when he was casually smoking a blunt while playing Battlefield 1<\/a> during the game’s promotion at E3 2016.<\/p>\n It seems that both Microsoft and Sony will have a hip-hop superstar to represent their brand in the upcoming battle for the next-gen market share.<\/p>\n And while Microsoft and Snoop Dogg haven’t officially announced their collaboration yet, on Friday Sony announced their partnership with Travis Scott<\/a> and his Cactus Jack brand.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
