Did you hear the news? Next-gen console gaming is going to be a little more consumer friendly this time round, with both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 allowing gamers to upgrade their game if they own it on the previous generation.<\/p>\n

So for example if you pruchased a Plastation 4 version of FIFA 21 in October, and are lucky enough to get a PS5 at Christmas you can upgrade the game to the PS5 for absolutely free.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the same as backwards compatibility, which both consoles support to varying degrees, this is a complete upgrade to a next-gen version of the game with support for all the graphical bells and whistles that the new consoles offer.<\/p>\n

How this upgrade works, and what progression (save games, unlocks, etc) you can take over, is different for every title so to give you a helping hand and save you a potentially costly mistake we have put together a guide of all the games that you can upgrade for free from PS4 to PS5.<\/p>\n

These are the currently confirmed games that will offer a free upgrade to PS5 for gamers that own the PS4 edition.<\/p>\n

Take note:<\/strong> Not all games will be available at launch e.g FIFA 21 will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X on the 4th December.<\/p>\n
