The event is filled with things for WoW players to do, from hunting rare elites to turning into a zombie (Scourge) and repeating some great rewards for their troubles. Here&#8217;s what you need to know about the Shadowlands pre-expansion event.<\/p>\n<h2>Shadowlands pre-expansion event: Quests &amp; Rewards<\/h2>\n<p>For the next two weeks leading up to the Shadowlands release date, players will be able to complete Shadowlands pre-expansion quests, as well as a daily quest, for some nice rewards.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/world-of-warcraft\/world-of-warcraft-shadowlands-ray-tracing-how-to-enable\">World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Ray Tracing: How to enable<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will need to have a level 48 character to start your questline with &#8220;An Urgent Request&#8221; in your faction&#8217;s capital city. These cities are now overrun by The Scourge (zombies) so your quest won&#8217;t be easy.<\/p>\n<p>The next quest is called &#8220;Advancing the Effort&#8221;. Once completed, you will unlock Daily Quests in the Icecrown region. These quests will reward you with Argent Commendations, which you can use to purchase limited-time rewards.<\/p>\n<p>Rewards for the Shadowlands pre-patch event include gear, cosmetics, and pets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/eSBbPWDIS6KV9UkfDOYbBiGJTJqcR6OTvIcEhy64Tt8\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL1NoYWRvd2xhbmRzUmV3YXJkcy5qcGc_X3Q9MTYwNTA4ODIwNQ\" alt=\"Shadowlands pre-expansion event rewards elites\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" loading=\"lazy\"><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: Blizzard Entertainment)<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"cke_pagebreak\" style=\"page-break-after: always;\" title=\"Page Break\" contenteditable=\"false\" aria-label=\"Page Break\" data-cke-display-name=\"pagebreak\" data-cke-pagebreak=\"1\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p>Completing the &#8220;Only Shadows Remain&#8221; quest will give you access to even more Daily Quests, which means even more Shadowlands pre-patch event rewards.<\/p>\n<p>Alliance players can visit Quartermaster Renick in Stormwind while Horde players should seek out Quartermaster Lungren in Orgrimmar to purchase goods. Further, both factions can also trade in their Argent Commendations with either Crusader Adevald Ironbeard or Veteran Crusader Aliocha Segard at the Argent Tournament.<\/p>\n<h2>Become part of the Scourge<\/h2>\n<p>Players can become part of the Scourge, aka World of Warcraft&#8217;s version of a zombie in the Shadowlands pre-expansion event. While it is a bit tame compared to the infamous event many years ago, it is still a whole lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p>There are strange crates all over Ogrimar and Stormwind, which give off a green slow. This is the Banshee Queen&rsquo;s champion, Nathanos Blightcaller. The Rare Elite in Eastern Plaguelands can be found at Marris Stead and rewards players with weapon and armour pieces which have unique appearances only available for the event. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you manage to take this Rare Elite in the Shadowlands pre-expansion event down, you will earn an equipment cache for completing the weekly World Quest.
