Melee competitors &#8211; seeing top players compete for large prize pools.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This year, as you may expect, is running slightly differently &#8211; although it still boasts the biggest names the scene has to offer. Melee competition, which has become a staple on the competitive circuit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This tenth year will take place entirely online, with 20 players competing for the lion&rsquo;s share of the &#36;10,000 prize pool.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As it is online, only players from the United States, Canada and Mexico will be able to participate in this year&rsquo;s main event &#8211; in a bid to ensure more stable connections for matches.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There will however be a separate EU tournament too over the weekend, consisting of 16 players.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/super-smash-bros-melee\/top-10-smash-bros-melee-players-2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Top 10 best Super Smash Bros Melee players in 2020<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What is the format?<\/h2>\n<p>The main tournament will kick off with four pools of five players each, where two players from each pool will be seeded into the winners bracket, two players will be seeded into the losers bracket, while one player will be eliminated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This leaves 16 players in the final bracket.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Who is competing?<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/yk916FeChykU84AlfM2o1eBakykOqqenLPpAlXA2Fs8\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL3NtYXNoX2Jyb3NfbWVsZWUuanBlZw\" alt=\"smash_bros_melee\" width=\"640\" height=\"422\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Who will come out on top?
