The May Xbox System Update Launches This Week

The new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S update is coming this week, just in time for you to absolutely play it all weekend because what else are you going to play?

In an Xbox Wire post, Microsoft said the following:

"Starting today, you'll be able to see the Xbox gamertags of your discord friends while you're connected to Discord Voice from your Xbox. This makes it easier to add each other as Xbox friends and send each other Xbox game invites."

With the update you can also sort and filter pages, making it easier to find games and bug fixes for various hardware elements. There's new wireless controller firmware that has bug fixes for slow battery drain in the controller with internal batteries, along with a bug fix for controllers that disconnect in games when using headphones with 4K, 120Hz, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) enabled.

This update comes as Microsoft faces fire due to a rough launch for Redfall, and many people wondering if Xbox is starting to flounder in the face of competition from Nintendo and Sony. With several players wondering if Starfield is the last-ditch effort from Microsoft to remain relevant in an ever-changing market, it has to be wondered if they're panicking.
