The developers have made adjustments to the LP table by reducing the overall LP gain. Additionally, for Diamond+ tiers, they have increased the losses by 50%. You can see the full placement chart in our patch notes guide. Here is a point wise explanation of all the changes:

  • Players within these ranked tiers will experience increased stakes and losses, coupled with lower rating bonuses and loss mitigations. This will test the players and help them to bring out their best performances.

  • The plan was to increase the elimination bonus with the Season 18 update. However, the developers realized that they needed to change the entire point distribution system. Consequently; they changed the original plan of boosting scores. Instead, they lowered the points awarded for placement, which will make kills more important than placement.

  • To infuse greater intensity into the arena battles, adjustments to ring damage are underway.

  • The update will fine-tune the timings for the ring mechanics to promote a greater number of mid-game encounters. The aim is to decrease phases of inactivity prior to the final moments of the game.

  • The update to the matchmaking system will better accommodate players who are actively challenging their MMR. The result will be a collection of more fiercely competitive matches that closely align with the players’ current ranking.

  • The update excludes a fraction of the Elimination bonus from bonus withholding when there is a mismatch between MMR and LP. The extent of this exemption grows in proportion to the player’s MMR.

  • The update will also reduce Skill & Rating Bonuses.
