G2 To Compete at IEM Dallas 2024 Without Their Captain

From 27 May to 2 June 2024, some of the best Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports teams will compete at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas for their share of the $250,000 prize pool at IEM Dallas 2024. G2 Esports is one of the top contenders to compete at the event, but now, we've learned that they will be without their captain and in-game leader (IGL), Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen.

That's a big deal for G2 Esports, as the IGL in CS2 is of the utmost importance, setting the pace, making those difficult calls, and planning executes. The news of Danish star Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen's absence at IEM Dallas 2024 was first reported by Dust2.us, when the team's General Manager, Petar "⁠peca⁠" Marković, confirmed it.  

So, who's going to stand in for HooXi? Well, neither G2 nor their IGL has confirmed any details about a temporary player. Interestingly, Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip did hint at traveling to IEM Dallas 2024, just as the news about HooXi's absence started to circulate.

Coincidence? I think not!

Audric "JACKZ" Jug was apparently supposed to be the stand-in for G2 at IEM Dallas 2024 but can't make it due to ESL rules preventing the move.

It will be interesting to see how G2 Esports performs at IEM Dallas 2024 without their IGL and if Stewie2K will jump in to fill the gap!
