More than 17 years after the release of the original Titan Quest, the sequel was finally announced at the THQ Nordic showcase on 11 August 2023! The brand-new ARPG drenched in Greek mythology from developer Grimlore Games and publisher THQ Nordic looks incredible, to say the least!

Sparta. Whether the name calls to mind Lacedaemon, Helen of Troy, Leonidas, or the Peloponnesian Wars, Sparta’s legend stands apart. In classical times, its influence stretched across the Peloponnesian peninsula and as far away as Italy.
So naturally, we wanted to feature Sparta in Titan Quest II. But we didn’t want these to be the same old Spartans. In keeping with our philosophy, we wanted to present a unique and fantastical twist that was nevertheless rooted in the history and classical stories that inspire us.
Ours is a world in which the monsters of myth are real, and they pose a real threat to the humans who live among them. Until recently, the Spartans and their powerful military served the role of protectors, defending the towns and villages of Greece from these mythological threats.

Titan Quest 2 Release Date Speculation
At the time of writing, there is no clear indication from the developers about how far along Titan Quest 2's development is.
It is impossible to nail down an accurate release date or even a release date window.
With that being said, our best guestimate is that the game will definitely not release in 2023, and there's always a chance for a holiday 2024 release at the earliest, in our opinion. We will, of course, update this section as soon as more information becomes available.
Titan Quest 2 Platforms
We know that Titan Quest 2 will be available on PC (via Steam) as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The developers did not mention the Nintendo Switch (or its successor). At the time of writing, it appears there are no plans for a Titan Quest 2 release on Xbox One and PS4 consoles.
Titan Quest 2 Story Details
Rooted in Greek mythology, Titan Quest 2's story focuses on the main villain, Nemesis, aka the Goddess of Retribution. Players must stop her corruption of the Threads of Fate, fighting alongside the gods to change fate!
The game will feature an "exploration-focused" campaign in a world full of myth and monsters. You will battle the likes of Ichthians, Centaurs, Satyrs, Harpies, Sirens, Gryphons, and many more enemies.
The developers explain what they mean by an "exploration-focused campaign:
Pay close attention to your surroundings! The world is full of mysteries and secrets to discover. Legendary monsters lurk in hidden groves, and you never know when you will end up face-to-face with a god. Visit memorable towns full of life and intrigue. The conversations you engage in and the items you find along your journey can lead to surprising discoveries, or they might just hold the key to stopping Nemesis. This is your adventure.
That sounds fantastic, as rewarding exploration is one thing I've always felt a bit lacking in ARPGs. The original's story was underrated, in my opinion, so Titan Quest 2's story might be well worth it to explore fully!
Titan Quest 2 Gameplay & Features
Titan Quest 2 will feature classic ARPG gameplay as you level up, slay monsters, and partake in a whole lot of challenging combat. With unique skills and a deep character system, where you can combine two masters for a powerful build, everything about Titan Quest 2's gameplay sounds great from the initial announcement and details.
As per the Titan Quest 2 Steam page, the developer has shared a list of features you can expect when the game releases:
- Flexible character system: In Titan Quest 2, you are in control of your own fate. Customize your hero, then form your own class by combining two masteries. Build your character around the strengths and weakness of both masteries, exploring different combinations of skill modifiers, attributes, and items to create your own hybrid class and find your favorite playstyle. Grow your powers from those of a young mortal to a hero to rival the gods themselves!
- Meaningful loot: Every item serves a function, and every character class has many options when it comes to finding the perfect equipment. Even the most common spear can be upgraded via affix crafting, and with the right ingredients, you may even forge it into a unique item spoken of only in legend!
- Challenging action RPG combat: Enemies form factions and work together, combining their unique skills and abilities to keep you on your toes. Use the deep character build system and access every skill at your disposal to vanquish them in this unique action RPG experience.
- A beautiful, handcrafted world rooted in Greek myth: Encounter stunning vistas and deep caverns, and traverse the world with your divine mount, Areion. Use the powers of the gods to uncover secret locations and explore lovingly designed levels full of verticality.
- Online multiplayer: Join up with friends to take on the Goddess of Retribution. Like Jason and the Argonauts, sometimes you need a group of heroes for your journey.
- Rich and immersive sound: An atmospheric soundtrack blends traditional Greek music with modern orchestral elements to create epic, memorable themes, drawing you into Titan Quest 2's unique world.
At the time of writing, specific class details have not been revealed. However, meaningful loot is one thing we are really excited about, as picking up a tonne of trash everywhere you go gets a bit boring in most ARPGs.
