Twitch streamer Felix "xQc" Lengyel rejected a massive million-dollar NFT sponsor offer. He said it was even more fun telling them "no".

Felix "xQc" Lengyel is one of the highest-grossing streamers on Twitch, having raked in nearly $9 million between August 2019 and October 2021, according to the Twitch data breach leak. Indeed, this shouldn't be a surprise given that he's also among the most popular personalities on the streaming platform.

While xQc is widely known for being a former professional Overwatch esports pro, he's undoubtedly more famous for his Grand Theft Auto V roleplay streams. Beyond this, xQc is no stranger to offering his opinion on an array of contentious matters, having been outspoken in the past.

Followingly, many fans (or "juicers," as they are colloquially known) are aware that xQc does not approve of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), describing the crypto-backed tech as "a sh*t f*cking product" and condemning companies and other influencers for promoting them.

During his 18th February 2022 live stream, xQc told his chatters that he was offered an "astronomical" NFT sponsorship deal, which he expressed having had the pleasure of turning down.

"Today, I received an insane, absolutely insane NFT sponsor offer. The amounts were astronomical. It was even more fun to tell them 'no'," the Twitch star said.

xQc later proceeded to disclose the terms of the sponsor deal, which included "an overlay, a shoutout, and visits for five minutes and three tweets." The Twitch star continued to disclose the deal was worth a mind-boggling $1.2 million.

"That's a f*cking racket if I've ever seen one. No thank you, sir," xQc said proudly. Later in the stream, xQc joked that the fine print said that the deliverables were "payable as JPEGs."

Twitch fans were pleased that he turned down the deal, with many flocking to Reddit to share their praise and opinion.

"At first, I thought that it might've been a fairly easy choice for him given his stance on NFTs. But I expected the sponsorship to entail a lot more. But holy sh*t. Three tweets, 5 min visit and an overlay for 1.2 million? That's actually insane," said one Reddit user.

Another user pointed out the amount of money the NFT company makes, considering that they would be ready to cough up $1.2 million for a sponsorship deal.

A third commended xQc's ethics, saying, "People hate on xQc so much, but the man has some of the best ethics I have ever seen. I see so much blatant hypocrisy in so many top streamers, but x doesn't f*ck around."

Notably, many would perhaps not have the same willpower to say no to a deal like that, especially given the large sum of money. However, I believe xQc made the right choice since a million-dollar NFT deal wouldn't be sensible if it came at the expense of his credibility.

What are your thoughts, though? Would you have taken the deal if you were in his position, or would you have told the sponsors to f*ck off? Be sure to share your thoughts with me on Twitter.
