Masters Shanghai: Top Seeded Teams Will Choose Opponents Following Swiss Stage

Masters Shanghai will be the first international VCT event to be held in China and will commence at VCT CN Arena. A total of 12 teams from the Americas, China, Pacific, and EMEA will compete from May 23 to June 9 for the trophy and the top teams will get to play in the biggest venue in Valorant history—the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

The event will follow the same format as that of Masters Madrid in which teams will go through the Swiss stage and the top teams will proceed to the bracket stage i.e. Playoffs.

However, there is a catch, to make the event more interesting and to raise the "competition stakes," Leo Faria, the Global Head of Valorant Esports, has announced that the "higher-seeded teams will get to choose their opponents following Swiss stage."

So, every series becomes even more important as winning them will give teams an extra advantage of choosing the teams that they are comfortable against. 

We will get the list of all the teams qualified for Masters Shanghai as soon as Stage
1 for all International Leagues concludes and the groups for Masters Shanghai will be drawn on May 12.
