JBOEN Leads FaZe’s Comeback to Secure XSE Pro League Playoff Spot

FaZe Clan have secured the final playoff berth at XSE Pro League Guangzhou 2026, fighting back from an 0–2 group stage start to book their place in the single-elimination bracket alongside seven other squads.

The path through was anything but straightforward. After early group stage struggles left FaZe staring down elimination, they brushed aside SINNERS in a do-or-die best-of-three to stay alive, then faced EYEBALLERS in the decisive series – a matchup loaded with extra weight given that EYEBALLERS’ win over FaZe at BLAST Bounty earlier this year is widely credited as the moment that triggered the roster’s decline and their eventual failure to qualify for the Cologne Major.

FaZe got their revenge in Guangzhou, but it took three maps to do it. They dropped Ancient 20–22 in triple overtime before rallying to take Mirage 16–14 and close it out with a dominant 13–3 win on Cache. Danish player Jason “JBOEN” Bo Nielsen was central to the turnaround, posting a 1.61 rating and 33 kills across Mirage to keep the series alive when it mattered most.

Who FaZe Face in the Playoffs

FaZe enter the playoff bracket as the eighth and final qualifier, joining BetBoom, TYLOO, PARIVISION, Nemesis, 9z, BIG, and Alliance. Their first-round opponent is BB Team (BetBoom), with a potential path through TYLOO and 9z if they advance.

According to HLTV’s tournament coverage, FaZe’s recovery from the 0–2 pool is being framed as a meaningful resurgence for a seasoned international roster that has had a rough few months – and how they perform in these playoffs will say a lot about whether this is a genuine upswing heading into the rest of the CS2 calendar.
