Insomniac Games has dropped a new story trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine that puts Jean Grey at the heart of the narrative, giving fans the clearest look yet at how Logan’s relationships will drive the game when it launches on September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
The trailer leans hard into the well-known chemistry between Logan and Jean – the X-Man also known as the Phoenix – and the two characters’ history as part of one of Marvel’s most enduring love triangles alongside Scott Summers, AKA Cyclops. Who’s In the Trailer
Beyond Jean Grey, the trailer confirms a formidable villain roster. Bolivar Trask, Omega Red, and Deathstrike are all named as adversaries, with oppressive factions The Reavers and The Hand also confirmed as forces Wolverine will go up against. Sabretooth makes an appearance too, rounding out what looks like a deep roster of classic Logan antagonists.

This is the second trailer Insomniac has released in the space of a week – a July 16 trailer spotlighted the cinematic presentation and Logan’s antihero nature ahead of this more character-focused follow-up. The game was first announced several years ago but was heavily delayed after a leak at Insomniac revealed content ahead of schedule.

Marvel’s Wolverine is available for pre-order now and will ship on a physical disc – Sony’s plans to end physical game media for its consoles don’t come into effect until January 2028, It’s shaping up as one of the most anticipated PS5 releases of the year, with Insomniac bringing the same studio pedigree that made its critically acclaimed Spider-Man games.
