Apex Legends Octane stim glitch makes unwanted return

The infamous Octane "Double Stim" exploit has found itself back in Apex Legends Season 10 and is similar to the Octane Stim glitch discovered in Season 6.

Apex Legends players have discovered that the infamous Octane "Double Stim" exploit has snuck its way back into Apex Legends Season 10. Octane's Stim ability typically boosts the legend's movement and sprint speed by 30% and 40%, respectively. Once activated, the effects should last for 6 seconds and should go on cooldown. Of course, this is not the case with the recent glitch, which saw players able to abuse the ability for double speed boosts in their matches.

The initial iteration of this exploit was first discovered in Season 6 and saw Octane players get an additional speed boost when they activated the Stim ability and holospray at the same time.

The exploit was fairly easy to trigger and was eventually fixed by Respawn in a subsequent patch update by disabling Octane's ability to drop holosprays whilst Stim is active.

In Season 10, the exploit works similarly but appears to require Octane to run through a Wraith portal. After chasing down an enemy with the Bocek Bow, Twitch streamer iiTzTimmy activated the Stim ability and proceeded to run through a Wraith portal.

Upon exiting the portal, he realized that he had activated the Stim ability a second time, which resulted in Octane receiving an extra speed boost. Shortly after exiting the portal, iiTzTimmy said: "Oh my god, I double stimmed and I'm extra fast. I exploited! I don't know what I did," before shortly succumbing to an enemy player.

iiTzTimmy isn't sure what he did to trigger the exploit and the glitch seems to be more difficult to pull off compared to Season 6. Respawn has not addressed the glitch yet, which means that players could try to abuse Octane's Stim until it's properly patched in the next game update.

The bug has been recorded in the Apex Legends Wiki, which reads: "If Octane goes through Wraith's Dimensional Rift or a Phase Runner while Stim is active, it will be cancelled without starting Stim's cooldown. However, Octane will still have the effects of Stim for the normal duration."
