Respawn is introducing a brand-new tropical island map called "Storm Point" to the arena in Apex Legends Season 11. The update goes live on 2nd November and is the first new map since Respawn added World's Edge last year.

Popular Twitch streaming icon and FaZe Clan co-owner, Nick "Nickmercs" Kolcheff, is optimistic about Storm Point's arrival to the game, saying that it's going to be "fire." However, the question begs whether the new map will save him from being third-partied or not.

During a recent stream, Nickmercs said: "So this new map is supposed to be 20% bigger than any map they've made yet, which is good for [avoiding] third parties. It's going to be fire."

It's arguable whether the Apex Legends Season 11 patch update marks new hope for Nickmercs since it was not long ago that he announced he would be done with Apex Legends forever amid the turmoil of being constantly third-partied.

Mobile users: The topic starts around the 14:40 mark.

Respawn's Rodney Reece said that Storm Point is the sum of two years of work and will include hundreds of micro-decisions to address third-party encounters. It's also their largest map yet and is located on the planet Gaea, featuring all-new POIs and wildlife, offering different combat challenges and an overall better gameplay experience -- all of which signal great news for Nickmercs.

Beyond this, we suspect Apex Legends Season 11 will restore faith in players, following a tumultuous outcry by fans regarding the devastating Apex Legends server problems last month. Therefore, the new "Escape" patch is undoubtedly worth having high hopes for as the developers will also introduce a new CAR submachine gun and new legend "Ash" into the game.

Nickmercs also previously commented on the introduction of Ash, saying that she looks almost like a Wraith port and believes that Ash may overtake Wraith in the new season. Although he loves the new legend, Nickmercs admits that she will probably be nerfed soon after launch.

Only time will tell whether the new season will be Nickmercs' saving grace or whether he will find something else to rant over.
