Chemistry Bench Uses & Recipes in ARK Survival Ascended

As mentioned earlier, the Chemistry Bench serves as the industrial upgrade to the Mortar and Pestle, capable of producing refined recipes in bulk at 2/3rds the normal cost. The list of recipes expands from what was possible with the Mortar and Pestle, so let's examine all the recipes you can craft using the Chemistry Bench once it's been crafted:

  • Narcotic
  • Sparkpowder
  • Gunpowder
  • Cementing Paste
  • Stimulant
  • Bug Repellant
  • Lesser Antidote
  • Absorbent Substrate

Due to its heightened functionality, the Chemistry Bench consumes four times the materials in a single use and produces six times the materials. It is also twice as fast to craft in the Chemistry Bench compared to the Mortar and Pestle, resulting in the Chemistry Bench producing materials at 12 times the rate of the Mortar and Pestle.

For instance, crafting 100 Gunpowder in a Mortar and Pestle requires 100 Charcoal and 100 Sparkpowder, taking precisely 1 minute and 40 seconds to complete. In the Chemistry Bench, using 100 Charcoal and Sparkpowder will craft 150 Gunpowder in just 12.5 seconds.

Lastly, it's important to note that due to its heightened functionality, the Chemistry Bench requires both a connection to an active power grid via an Electrical Generator and a supply of Gasoline to operate. However, once you have the resources to run this bench, it's well worth it, ensuring you never run short on the supplies and consumables you need to survive in ARK Survival Ascended.
