As you progress to the later stages of ARK Survival Ascended, you'll likely find yourself exploring the game's advanced structures and devices. Powering these structures often requires electricity, and while a standard generator could suffice, the TEK Generator stands out as the premier choice for power and electricity distribution.

If you're about to incorporate new machinery into your base and need a dependable power source, we've got you covered. In the upcoming sections, we'll delve into the workings of the TEK Generator in ARK Survival Ascended, explaining how to craft it and meet all your electricity needs.

How To Craft the TEK Generator in ARK Survival Ascended

As mentioned earlier, the TEK Generator is a device specifically designed to power any of your electrical devices. However, there are some distinctions that we will delve into later in this article. For now, let's first break down the crafting requirements of the device, which we've listed below:

ARK Survival Ascended Tek Generator Crafting Requirements
Below are the items needed to craft the TEK Generator in ARK Survival Ascended. (Picture: Shane / Studio Wildcard)
  • 30 × Element
  • 2400 × Metal Ingot or Scrap Metal Ingot
  • 250 × Crystal or Primal Crystal
  • 120 × Black Pearl
  • 500 × Polymer, Organic Polymer, or Corrupted Nodule

To craft the TEK Generator, you'll need the items noted above. However, to do that in the first place, you'll need the TEKGram for it. Unlocking the Tekgram for the Tek Generator requires defeating the Megapithecus on medium/beta difficulty, so be sure to check out our Megapithecus boss guide here, or consider the solo Megapithecus boss guide if you plan on taking it down alone.

The items needed to craft the TEK Generator are pretty straightforward, but one item, Element, can be tricky to obtain, so be sure to check out our guide on Element farming here. Once you have all the required items, you'll also need a TEK Replicator to craft it, so make sure you have one crafted first.

Now that you know how to get your hands on a TEK Generator, let's discuss the device's uses in the game and how it functions as an electrical supply for all your mechanical needs.

How Does the TEK Generator Work in ARK Survival Ascended?

Similar to the regular Generator, the TEK Generator can power any electrical device near it, but instead of needing to be wired, it can do so wirelessly within an effective radius. It is also the only Generator capable of powering TEK Devices, so keep this in mind if you plan on TEK-ing out your base.

The Tek Generator consumes 1 Element or 100 Element Shards in 18 hours for the radius 1.0 plus 0.33 for each additional unit of radius. That is: on a 2.0× radius, 1.33 Elements every 18 hours or 1 every ≈13 1⁄2 hours; on a 5.0× radius, 2.32 Element every 18 hours or 1 every ≈7 3⁄4 hours; and on a 10.0× radius, 3.97 Element every 18 hours or 1 every ≈4 1⁄2 hours.

So there you have it, everything you need to know to use and craft the TEK Generator in ARK Survival Ascended. This device is the ideal solution to all your electrical consumption issues, and as long as you're willing to put in the effort to set it up and maintain it, it will serve you well during the end game.
