Studio Wildcard has announced the complete ARK Survival Ascended map release schedule for 2024, and the next map that we will be getting is The Center. It was originally scheduled to release after The Scorched Earth DLC, but the devs are bringing it before it on demand.
The Center was originally released as a standalone DLC for ARK Survival Evolved and the developers have decided to include all previous DLCs for free in ARK Survival Ascended as a way of rewarding the loyal fans and providing a complete experience for the new players. Just to confirm, the latest Community Crunch has once again reiterated that The Center will be released in June 2024.
"Mark your calendars, because on June 3rd, we're releasing The Center with Shastasaurus! This free expansion is like a whole new ARK world – double the size of The Island, that gorgeous Tolkien-fantasy feel, and tons of new surprises for you to uncover," as per the official community crunch 404.
Studio Wildcard announced in the latest community crunch that they will be delaying The Center indefinitely and will focus on The Scorched Earth's release.
"We’ve made the decision to postpone the Center as it wasn’t on track to launch with the level of quality we require. Our dedicated partners – who have been working on the Center while we focus on Scorched Earth – need more time to make sure it meets our expectations, and yours. We’re sorry for this change in plans but we know it will be well worth it when the Center launches," Studio Wildcard revealed in the community crunch.
"We’d like to offer something for you to sink your teeth into right now though! The Gigantoraptor, originally intended to debut alongside 'The Center', will be released on Wednesday, Feb 28th for all Survivors on The Island."
When Will The Center DLC Release in ARK Survival Ascended
As per the official announcement by Studio Wildcard, The Center will be released in February 2024; however, the exact date is yet to be revealed. We will update this page as we get more details about it.
Will The Centre Map Be Free for ARK Survival Ascended?
To answer this question directly, yes, The Centre DLC expansion map will indeed be free for all ARK Survival Ascended players, similarly to all the other DLCs that will be released for the game over the next two years. The reason for this is that the developers want to give players who have already purchased them on ARK Survival Evolved access to them in Ascended.
What to Expect from The Center in ARK Survival Ascended
The Center was originally created by Ben “EvilMrFrank” Burkart as a mod but was later added to the game by Studio Wildcard. The map features deep oceans, multiple biomes, lava rivers, and much more. Apart from this, it will also bring Gigantoraptor, the caregiver dinosaur, to the game. The Gigantoraptor was originally supposed to be exclusive to the upcoming Ragnarok DLC as the fifth creature vote winner, but it was subsequently changed by Studio Wildcard to appear in The Center DLC instead.
