Fortunately, we have confirmation that this DLC is set to be released later this year, and the excitement is palpable.

When Will The Valguero DLC Release in ARK Survival Ascended?

At the time of writing, we still don't have an official release date for the Valguero DLC in ARK Survival Ascended, and all we can draw an estimation from is the roadmap that's been recently provided by the developers. Based on this, it appears that Valguero will arrive in late Q4 of 2024, which would put it in December of this year.

The Valguero DLC itself is a non-canonical expansion map and will feature a large and diverse landscape with new areas to explore and survive, as well as new creatures to tame and defeat. So while this date is still some time away, there's plenty to look forward to (as we'll discuss later in this article).

Will The Valguero Map Be Free For ARK Survival Ascended?

Yes, the Valguero map DLC will be free for all Ark Survival Ascended players who have purchased the base game. This makes sense given that the Valguero DLC is simply an expansion map and not a canonical DLC (i.e., no story elements and narrative features). But also, the developers have made clear intentions to give players who have come over from Evolved to Ascended as much content as possible for leaping the new iteration of ARK.

While the DLC will be free, we do expect there to be some new cosmetic additions to the game that will be paid for, such as skins, item cosmetics, dino cosmetics, and even cosmetic packs, similar to the Frontier Adventure pack we see for the Scorched Earth DLC. There might be more to come in the future, so we'll be sure to keep you updated on what you might need to pay for when it comes to Valguero.

What to Expect from Valguero in ARK Survival Ascended

The Valguero map features an expansive 63 square kilometer area covered with various terrains such as lush jungles, snowfields, lava flows, and even hot springs. It also features an area for the Aberration DLC lovers among us called the Aberration Trench, which is an underground area and hosts some of the Aberrant creatures we've seen from that DLC as well.

Valguero also has some unique creatures ranging from ones we've seen on the Island to incredibly powerful new bosses that players will need to defeat to ascend from this ARK. Of course, this is all based on the previous iteration of this DLC, and we may see more content added for its inclusion in ARK Survival Ascended, so we'll just have to wait and see for more details on what's to come.

ARK Survival Ascended Valguero Creature Vote Winner

At the time of writing, there are no signs of a new creature vote winner for the Valguero DLC coming to ARK Survival Ascended. The last new creature we got for this map was when it initially released back in 2019, the Deinonychus, a large bipedal dinosaur that excelled in hunting and climbing to ambush and attack its prey, making it the ideal addition for a map with so many terrain types.

For now, we'll just have to wait and see regarding when the next creature vote will be and whether the new dino voted on will be for Valguero. Rest assured that as soon as it's announced, we will update this section accordingly.

Will Valguero's New Dinos Come To The Island?

Similarly to other DLC creatures, we expect that any of the exclusive Valguero creatures will not be transferable to The Island map via Obelisks, TEK Transmitters, or spawn commands. However, the base creatures should be fully transferrable. Of course, this is still under speculation, and we don't know for sure yet how the developers will limit or permit dino transfers from DLCs to the base game/The Island.
