Are you looking to get, tame, and feed your Carcharodontosaurus? Check out our comprehensive guide on the brand-new carnivore!
ARK Survival Evolved Carcharodontosaurus: How To Get, Tame, Feed & More

Carcharodontosaurus is a brand-new carnivore added to the world of ARK: Survival Evolved and resembles other giant dinosaurs such as the T-Rex and Allosaurus. It comes with a set of noteworthy abilities and will become more frenzied the more blood it tastes. Needless to say, this hulking beast is not one that will be easily tamed.

However, for the most daring dinosaur tamers out there, the Carcharodontosaurus can make a powerful ally. This article will cover everything you need to know about Carcharodontosaurus, including how to tame it, feed it, and more.

How To Tame Carcharodontosaurus In ARK: Survival Evolved

Giga Trap
Traps are not necessary for Carcharodontosaurus but definitely make things easier (Picture: Studio Wildcard)

To tame the Carcharodontosaurus, you must first build its "Friendship" or "Trust" meter. You can do this by bringing in lifeless bodies of wild animals or other small dinosaurs. You don't necessarily need a trap for this, but it will make things easier and decrease the risk of Carcharodontosaurus biting you. With that in mind, here is how to tame the Carcharodontosaurus.

  • Set up a trap able to tame other Gigantosaurus
  • Track Carcharodontosaurus at any Giga spawn point
  • Lure Carcharodontosaurus into your trap and close off the exit
  • Bring lifeless bodies to feed to Carcharodontosaurus (two rhinos should be enough)
  • A meter should appear above its head, letting you know if more bodies are needed
  • Once the "Friendship" meter turns from blue to green, dismantle the trap and ride the Carcharodontosaurus
  • A ten-minute timer will appear in the top right corner, and a Taming meter will appear at the bottom of your screen
  • You have ten minutes to kill as many creatures as you can to fill the Taming meter
  • Once full, you are able to place a saddle on its back as it is fully tamed

The Carcharodontosaurus saddle can be crafted at level 96 by spending 75 Engram points to unlock its recipe. As for materials, you will need the following:

  • 500 Hide
  • 350 Fiber
  • 180 Metal Ingot
  • 20 Chitin

Knowing what Carcharodontosaurus likes to eat is important for maintaining its trust and happiness. Carcharodontosaurus, being a carnivore, is happy with a similar diet to other carnivores in the game.

  • Raw Mutton
  • Raw Prime Meat
  • Raw Prime Fish Meat
  • Raw Mear
  • Raw Fish Meat

You can also cook these and feed them to Carcharodontosaurus as well.

How To Breed Carcharodontosaurus In ARK: Survival Evolved

Ark egg
You can incubate eggs using incubators or by using fire (Picture: Studio Wildcard)

You can breed Carcharodontosaurus using the same method as other Giga dinosaurs. Here's how you do it.

  • Build an enclosure big enough for two Carcharodontosauruses
  • Place a male and female Carcharodontosaurus inside the enclosure
  • Set them to "wander" in the command menu
  • Wait approximately 18-48 hours
  • Once an egg is produced, you will need to keep it at a steady temperature of 43°C - 44°C in an egg incubator.
  • After it hatches (approximately 30 hours), you will need to add food to its inventory for the first 30 hours of its life.
  • Once it is able to feed for itself, you can allow it to do so. It will take around 14 hours total until it reaches adulthood.

That's all about Ark's Carcharodontosaurus taming and breeding.
