Stepping into the light from beyond the shadows, Ubisoft released the Cinematic trailer for the next Assassin's Creed installment, Shadows. In the game set in feudal Japan, players can experience the story and open-world environments through two protagonists; they also unveiled new pre-order information for its game editions available across three platforms.

The pre-order information for Assassin's Creed Shadows mentioned the requirement of an online connection, which confused players at best. Recently, the publisher posted a statement to clarify any confusion surrounding this requirement on social media.

Ubisoft posted a statement to the official Assassin's Creed Twitter account on 16th May 2024, almost 24 hours following the official trailer's premiere. This statement comes as Assassin's Creed Shadows may need an online connection at all times during their gaming experiences; however, Ubisoft clarified this misconception.

"We wanted to share some early information on the upcoming launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows, following some questions we've noticed in the community. Assassin's Creed Shadows will not require a mandatory connection at all times, the statement read.

An online connection will be needed to install the game, but you will be able to play the entire journey offline and explore Japan without any online connection. We are super excited to bring Assassin's Creed to Feudal Japan on November 15 when the game releases, and cannot wait to show you more along the way!

With that area of concern clarified, players can explore the vast environments of feudal Japan without needing to connect to a stable internet connection, as they can do offline. That said, it will likely require an online connection to download the game and install game patch updates post-launch to ensure players have the best optimized and updated version of the game on their preferred platform.
