Promising "visceral, spectacular, and unforgiving combat" in a utopian world which is both sublime and mad, Atomic Heart from developer Mundfish and published by Focus Entertainment is being unleashed on 21 February 2023 for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC. This article outlines the detailed PC specs for Atomic Heart, from the minimum and 30 FPS, to the absolute max at 4K and 60 FPS. We also detail the file size/download requirement on PC via Steam so you know exactly what is needed to run Atomic Heart at launch.

The good news is that Atomic Heart's minimum PC system requirements are quite low for 1080p and 30 FPS gaming. It is, however, important to note that Windows 10 (64-bit with version 20H1 or newer) is required, so you might want to update your Operating System (OS) if you haven't in a while.

The developers outlined a wide range of graphics options and PC specs, ranging from a minimum of 30 FPS to Ultra 4K at 60 FPS. Before we get to the full PC specs for Atomic Heart below, it is important to note that the FPS outlined by the developer on all options is the minimum players can expect "during fierce battles in the most crowded locations," according to a developer interview via WCCF Tech.

  • RAM: 8GB (12GB recommended)

Minimum 60 FPS (Low Settings at 1080p):

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 6500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • RAM: 8GB (12GB recommended)

Medium 60 FPS (Medium Settings at 1080p):

High 60 FPS (High Settings at 1080p)

Ultra 60 FPS (Ultra Settings at 1080p):

Ultra 60 FPS 4K Settings (Atomic Heart at Max):

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT

It is important to note that for playing Atomic Heart with 8 GB RAM, you should turn off the Shader optimization option, but that might cause stuttering as you load into a level.

What is Atomic Heart's File Size on a PC?

Atomic Heart isn't a small game at all. The title's Steam page and developer system requirements both list the HDD space requirement at 90 GB, with an SSD recommended. This likely includes the installation process as well, so taking an educated guess, we expect the actual Atomic Heart file size on your PC to be roughly 80 to 85 GB.
