Baldur's Gate 3: How To Increase Strength Stat

It's time to get hench in Baldur's Gate 3.
Baldur's Gate 3: How To Increase Strength Stat

Your strength score is usually what dictates your attack modifiers in Baldur's Gate 3, and in Dungeons & Dragons as a wider metric. It also changes what you can actually wield, and what armor you can wear, in addition to dictating how you can interact with enemies. Due to this, it's extremely important to buff up your character wherever possible, and we've got the details on how to do that.

How To Increase Your Strength Score In Baldur's Gate 3

There are a few different ways to increase your Strength stat in Baldur's Gate 3 beyond just starting as a race and class that naturally has a higher Strength stat than other races and classes. Some of them involve using spells, some feats, and others are a slightly more permanent approach.

Strength Increasing Feats

Feats in Baldur's Gate 3 allow you to increase stats on Level Four, Level Eight, and Level Twelve level-ups, or choose special abilities that could help you along the way. The following abilities are great for increasing your Strength stat:

  • Ability Score Improvements: Increase a stat of your choice by 2, or two stats by 1
  • Athlete: Increase a Strength or Dexterity by 1. While you are prone, use less movement to stand up.
  • Heavily Armoured: You gain armour proficiency with Heavy Armour and your Strength increases by 1
  • Heavy Armour Master: Your strength increases by 1. Incoming damage from non-magical attacks also decreases by 3 while you're wearing heavy armour.
  • Lightly Armoured: You gain Armour Proficiency with Light Armour and your Strength or Dexterity increases by 1
  • Moderately Armoured: You gain Armour Proficiency with Medium Armour and shields, and your Strength or Dexterity increases by 1
  • Resilient: You increase an Ability by 1 to a maximum of 20 and gain Proficiency in that Ability's saving throws
  • Weapon Master: You gain proficiency with four weapons of your choice, and your Strength or Dexterity increases by 1

Strength Increasing Spells

There's sadly only one spell that increases your Strength score in Baldur's Gate 3, and it's the following:

  • Enhance Ability Lvl 2 Spell: Bestow a magical enhancement upon an ally. They gain an Advantage on Ability Checks with a chosen Ability.

Permanent Strength Increasing Bonuses

There are a few different permanent bonuses that increase your Strength score, but not many and you will have to fight to get to them.

  • Auntie Ethel's Hair: Gain a +1 to any Ability Score of your choice
  • Mirror of Loss: Gain +2 to an Ability Score of your choice
  • Potion of Everlasting Vigor: Gain +2 to your Strength score
