Modern Warfare 3 has hit players with a brand new "dark matter" equivalent with brand new completionist camouflage, Interstellar. Personally, we think this camouflage tops MW's Damascus and MW2's Orion camo through its ominous dark colors and dynamic theme. We're going to share how to obtain Interstellar camo in MW3.

How To Unlock Interstellar Camo In Modern Warfare 3

MW3's Interstellar camo is the "top dog" of multiplayer camos, meaning players have to progress through the previous three weapon mastery camos before being able to unlock Interstellar. Despite the incredibly long yet rewarding grind, players can obtain Interstellar camouflage by following these steps:

Many players will be questioning the humanity of this challenge, but yes, you must obtain every mastery camouflage on every single weapon to be granted access to Interstellar camo. 

The challenges work in order as mentioned above; players must first unlock Gilded camouflage, then complete Forged, and finally complete all the Priceless camouflage challenges.

Only a very minimal number of players unlock the final mastery camouflage on every Call of Duty, and Modern Warfare 3 won't be any different. We've answered a few questions players have about the Interstellar camouflage before trying to attempt it:

MW3: How long does it take to unlock the Interstellar Camo?

Players will have to unlock every weapon MW3 has to offer and obtain all mastery camouflages before unlocking Interstellar, meaning first players have to hit max rank in multiplayer just to unlock all the weapons!

In terms of total play time, it's estimated to take approximately 48 hours of consistent challenge-dedicated gameplay to unlock the camouflage. 

 

MW3: Do I need to unlock Zombie Mastery Camos for Interstellar

Simple answer, no. 

MW3 Multiplayer and Zombie mastery camouflages are separate and players will not need to unlock or focus on dedicated zombie camos to unlock Interstellar. 

 

MW3: What Weapons do I need to unlock all Mastery Camos on?

To unlock MW3 Interstellar Camouflage, players will need to unlock all mastery camos on the mainstream MW3weapons, this includes:

  • Assault Rifles
  • Battle Rifles
  • SMGS
  • Shotguns
  • LMGs
  • Marksman Rifles
  • Sniper Rifles
  • Handguns
  • Launchers 
  • Melee 

Players don't need to unlock any camouflage for MW2 weapons, only MW3 dedicated weapons, these will be identified with a "MW3" logo on each weapon in the create-a-class menu.
