Call of Duty 2024 Will Release On Game Pass, Claims New Report

A new report claims that the next Call of Duty title will get a day one release on Game Pass later this year.

It’s been on the minds of Call of Duty players ever since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard: will Call of Duty come to Game Pass. According to a new report by The Wall Street Journal, Call of Duty 2024 will reportedly receive a day one Game Pass release.

While Microsoft has yet to confirm whether the report is true, the report, which is behind a paywall, claims that “Microsoft plans a major shakeup of its videogame sales strategy by releasing the coming installment of Call of Duty to its subscription service instead of the longtime, lucrative approach of only selling it a la carte.”

Call of Duty 2024 is rumored to return to the Black Ops franchise with Black Ops 6, with a showcase from Microsoft set to reveal more information in June. Treyarch, the Activision studio behind past Black Ops titles will be involved and have even responded to recent online speculation over easter eggs hidden in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Releasing the latest Call of Duty onto Game Pass will be a major move for Microsoft, coming with potential savings for a large portion of the playerbase on Xbox and PC Game Pass.

This wouldn’t be the first time Microsoft chose to launch a AAA title onto Game Pass, having made Bethesda’s Starfield a day one Game Pass addition following the studio’s parent company, ZeniMax Media, acquisition in 2021.
