Professional esports is a thriving industry, what was thought to be only a hobby has now become a viable and highly sought career path for so many fans all over the globe.

With almost many professional leagues as there are games the road to becoming a professional player has taken a clearer path but it does not mean there is a shortcut to the top or a magic phrase to stay there.

Pro players know about the sacrifice, time and sweat spent to get to where they are and only a few of them have tasted the glory of becoming world champions of their chosen esport and there are even fewer that have the to opportunity grasp history like the one FaZe Clan has next season in Call of Duty League.

aBeZy and FaZe Clan are bound to make esports history

As you may already know the FaZe owned team are fresh from the CDL World Title as they got their payback from the humiliation in the finals of the first season with a convincing victory of the Season 1 Champions, Dallas Empire.

If you have followed the league since its debut in 2020 you may already know that both finals featured the same exact matchup with Atlanta FaZe facing Dallas Empire with one victory apiece.

Right there is the key of what could be written in esports history books as something we have never seen before in major esports leagues.

We took the task to review several databases looking for a team that appeared in the first three finals of a new-founded tournament of a major video game title.

This meant that we looked at events like the Intel Grand Slam (CS:GO), RLCS (Rocket League), Worlds (League of Legends) and PUBG Global Championship among others to find a team that appeared in consecutive finals in said tournaments since their creation.

We only found two similar cases with Flipsid3 Tactics (Rocket League) and NAVI (Dota 2) getting to the finals in consecutive years with two and three respectively while both only won one of them.

ATL FaZe has taken the first seed in the first two seasons and appeared in both finals and could repeat what NAVI did with three finals in a row but could become the first team to get more than one championship if they run it back.

We will have to follow closely the upcoming season of the Call of Duty League in 2022 to witness if such an incredible accomplishment can be completed with aBeZy at the helm leading them to history.
