Best Close-Range Meta Weapons After Warzone Season 5 Update

Call of Duty Warzone has received its Season 5 update, and along with it comes a wide array of new additions from 5 brand new weapons, new POIs, and of course, the seasonal balance changes including meta-changing nerfs and buffs. This has led to the meta surrounding all the close-range weapons in the game-changing quite a bit.

To elaborate more on this, we will be taking a look at the new rankings for the best close-range weapons in Call of Duty Warzone Season 5's latest balance changes. So without further delay, let's jump right in.  

Best Close-Range Meta Weapons After Warzone Season 5 Update

Trusted YouTuber JGOD has broken down the current ranking for all the close-range weapons in Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 taking into consideration the recent meta changes. These include weapons from Modern Warfare, Cold War, and Vanguard. For our purposes, we will be listing the top picks coming from each game to Warzone Season 5.

While his extensive list included several powerful weapons, he noted that given the sharp TTK drop-off further down the list, most Warzone players would likely settle for the first few guns listed. 

1. Fennec 

The Fennec comes in hot this season, sporting a high TTK and a strong balance of power and accuracy. Its only drawback is the player's ability to time its reloads and inclination to play Solos and duos.

• Laser: 5mW Laser

• Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip

• Magazine: 40 Round Drum Mags

• Perk: Sleight of Hand

2. CX9 

The CX9 is also sporting a high TTK this season of 696, letting it melt the face of your opponent quite easily. With the added sleight of hand perk, you can bypass its relatively weaker damage per mag and cause some real havoc with this weapon.

• Laser: Tac Laser

• Stock: CX-FR

• Magazine: 50 Round Drum Mags

• Perk: Sleight of Hand

3. AK-74u 

Sporting the highest TTK out of all the Cold War weapons to arrive in Warzone, scoring a devastating 688, and with its high bullet velocity and low recoil, the AK-74u is a reliable and sturdy weapon to take into battle in Season 5.

• Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight

• Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip

• Magazine: Spetsnaz 50 Rnd Drum

• Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap

4. CW MP5 

The MP5 has received a buff this season, pushing it into a solid position for one of the best close-range weapons of Season 5. Though not broken in any sense, the weapon will serve you well with its decent TTK of 700 and balance of accuracy and power.

• Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip

5. VG PPSh-41 

Sporting a fairly low TTK of 598, the VG PPSh comes in strong as one of the top contenders for Warzone Season 5's best close-range weapons. Especially when coupled with the loadout below to hone in its wild rate of fire and land more shots.
