Best close range meta weapons in Warzone Pacific Season 2 Reloaded

Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific has seen several changes rolled out in the Season 2 Reloaded patch. The developers introduced the new Armaguerra 43 SMG and a string of weapon balance changes; both intended to shake up the meta. Furthermore, the developers reworked Rebirth Island and added multiple new points of interest to the game.

Recently, YouTube icon and Warzone veteran JGOD released a video detailing his top picks for close-range combat, including a list of more than ten meta weapons in Warzone Season 2 Reloaded. Better still, JGOD also provided the best class setups for each on Caldera and Rebirth Reinforced.

Top close range meta weapons in Warzone Season 2 Reloaded

JGOD's meta weapons list for Warzone Season 2 Reloaded included thirteen close-range weapons, ranked by aggregated scores comprising several metrics, including ease of use, average damage, damage per magazine, and time-to-kill (TTK) on either Caldera or Rebirth Reinforced.

While his expansive list included several powerhouse weapons, he noted that most Warzone players would likely settle for the first few guns listed, given the sharp TTK drop off further down the list. Furthermore, he pointed out that some guns might perform better on specific maps, although most perform similarly regardless of the setting.

For these reasons, we've listed his Top 5 mentioned guns and the recommended class setups for each of them in Warzone Season 2 Reloaded.

1. JAK-12

The JAK-12 shotgun is the best close-range gun because of its "broken" TTK of just 500 ms on Caldera versus 400 ms on Rebirth Reinforced within the 8-10 meter range. Notably, this is only achieved if have the best class setup (which we provided for you below). Since it's a shotgun, it also naturally does stupid damage.

• Muzzle: FORCE TAC Marauder
• Barrel: ZLR J-3600 Torrent
• Laser: 5mW Laser
• Magazine: 20 Round Drum Mags
• Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape

Note: The Stippled Grip Tape and 5mW Laser are probably the most important attachments for this loadout, providing an exceptional bonus to Sprint to Fire time. You need not worry about boosting the JAK-12's ADS speed since you'll primarily be hip firing. 

2. MP40

The MP40 came in second place, boasting insanely low TTK, at 616 ms on Caldera versus just 462 ms on Rebirth Reinforced. The gun is easy to use and confers 1521 DMG/Mag, which is excellent for killing enemies in Solos matches.

• Perk 1: Brace
• Perk 2: Quick

Note: JGOD advises players not aim for the head because the VDD 189mm Short will reduce Headshot Damage. "It's kind of giving you a Hollow Point without the penalty to the Damage Range. It's actually buffing the Damage Range," JGOD said.

3. Type 100 Rapid

While the Type 100 Rapid boasts a slightly greater average damage of 36.3 or 1742 DMG/Mag than the MP40, it's not as user-friendly, with an ease of use score of just 3/5. However, given the gun's exceptional TTK of 612 ms and 476 ms on Caldera and Rebirth Reinforced, respectively, we can understand why it's still deserving of 3rd place.

• Perk 1: Gung-Ho
• Perk 2: Quick

4. Armaguerra 43

The Armaguerra 43 was recently released and can be unlocked in three ways. The gun came in at the fourth position, owing to its remarkably lower average damage and DMG/Mag; however, despite this, the gun maintains a low TTK of 594 ms on Caldera and 486 ms on Rebirth Reinforced.

• Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop

• Perk 1: Sleight of Hand
• Perk 2: On-Hand

5. Owen Gun

The Owen Gun is the only gun on the list boasting excellent all-round stats. The gun is easy to use and has high average damage of 39.6 and a DMG/Mag of 2851, perfect for Solos or Quads. To put the cherry on top, the Owen Gun also has a super low TTK of 584 ms on Caldera and 511 ms on Rebirth Reinforced, which is still fast enough to melt down enemies, no matter the scenario.

Most players will probably want to rock the JAK-12, although the MP40, Type 100 Rapid, Armaguerra 43 and Owen Gun share the same average rank score. So, with that said, you can decide which you prefer.
