- A bunch of teasers have been unearthed for a new Battle Royale mode coming to Call of Duty
- Players may have discovered the full map, showing a football stadium and an airstrip
- This follows the launch of Modern Warfare’s Season 2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s second season featured returning operator Ghost and a bunch of new maps, but it seems there could be a Battle Royale mode in the pipeline too.
A cinematic trailer for Season 2 has many players believing a Battle Royale mode is coming, showing a group of soldiers leap from a plane onto a huge map.
There’s also a green cloud of smoke surrounding the map, which many believe is the shrinking circle associated with Battle Royale titles like Fortnite.
YouTuber Ryan B has also posted what could be the entire map, explaining if you become the COD caster in a private match on new map Atlas Superstore, you can fly up to the sky and see the entire landscape.
The full map, which you can check out below, shows landmarks like a football stadium, airstrip and a historic fortress of sorts.
If you go to Atlas Superstore in a private match and become the COD caster you can explore the entire map. It is all low quality because you don’t see it in regular gameplay. I flew all the way up in the sky to get the overview 🙂 pic.twitter.com/QpiVaBd7Un

If that wasn’t enough proof, the main menu of the game now has an option named “CLASSIFIED” – which clearly points towards some significant addition.
There hasn’t been any confirmation from Activision or Infinity Ward of a Battle Royale mode coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but by this point it certainly feels inevitable.
This wouldn’t be the first Battle Royale mode for Call of Duty either, with 2018’s Black Ops 4 containing Blackout which proved a popular addition.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 has officially kicked off, featuring classic map Rust, new weapons and more.
