The recent COD Next event showcased tons of new content coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, from a new gunsmith system to new game modes, including the return of the ever-popular co-op mode Special Ops. This model is a long-standing tradition for Modern Warfare titles, and if you're curious to know more, we have you covered.
Below you can find all the details regarding the new Spec Ops mode coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Along with the details surrounding this new mode revealed by Infinity Ward and much more that you need to know.
CoD Modern Warfare 2 Come With Spec Ops Mode?
For players wanting a break from the intense multiplayer or the serious story mode of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, the third option of Special Ops mode will return to give players just that. Spec Ops mode has always been the traditional third mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare titles, and Modern Warfare 2 appears to be no different.
Although the studio didn't give us too many details on the returning Spec-Ops mode during the Next event, Stephanie Snowden, Infinity Ward's communication director, spoke briefly about the mode. She stated that the co-op mode would be focused on a two-player, asymmetric design, with one player on the ground and the other providing air support.
However, Snowden stated that this was all the studio had to say about the mode's return but that a deeper look into the co-op mode would be released shortly. The game's official website and blog posts didn't give us much more concrete information on the mode.

The information from here was that Special Ops would continue the game's narrative after players completed the game's campaign and task two-player teams with exploring "large-scale hot zones." As well as the fact that the mode would be fitting into the narrative of the rebooted Modern Warfare universe which will be exciting to see.
This makes the most sense as the Call of Duty title released in 2019 also gave players some narrative content as they tasked players with completing missions with a buddy. So we'll just have to wait and see what new features and challenges await us in the upcoming Spec Ops mode of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
