Warzone AR tier list - Every assault rifle ranked from best to worst for Pacific Season 2

The second season of Call of Duty Warzone Pacific is here and we are really excited to see the changes and corrections in action through the tropical island of Caldera, including how meta weapons will be affected.

Caldera presented us with a bigger challenge than Verdansk with a wide variety of battlegrounds and scenarios that showed us that one strategy is not enough to survive here.

Wide-open areas like Peak or structural labyrinths like the Village obliged us to master all ranges of the weapon spectrum, from shotguns to sniper rifles.

We believe that a great starting point to go over the weapons available for this season is the assault rifles as they mostly are mid-range guns that work in most environments within Caldera.

Warzone Pacific S2 assault rifle tier list

With the merger of Vanguard to the Warzone universe, we increased the number of assault rifles available from 23 to 31 and with the arrival of Season 2 and a brand new AR called KG M40, which we have already seen as the favourite gun of the newest Vanguard operator, Anna Drake.

Described as a high-calibre, fully-automatic gun that is a strong contender in mid-to long-range encounters that has a similar recoil pattern as the Cooper Carbine but with a slightly improved centring speed.

With that being said, let's jump to our AR tier list.

Description of the tiers

• S-Tier: The best of the best. Even with mediocre attachments, these guns are powerhouses that will blast enemies into smithereens.
• A-Tier: These weapons are incredibly powerful and may closely rival weapons in the S-Tier if paired with the right attachments.
• B-Tier: The middle of the pack ARs for Warzone Pacific. Using the perfect loadout allows you to compete with players boasting the A-Tier weapons. These are great for specific situations or playstyles. 
• C-Tier: These ARs shouldn't be your primary weapon and should be used circumstantially with another weapon or require adept level skill to shine.
• D-Tier: This is labelled the "trash tier" weapons list. You should not include ARs in this tier in your loadout at all.

S-Tier

• AK-47 (CW)
• STG 44
• XM4
• FARA 83
• M4A1
• Krig 6
• Grau 5.56
• Cooper Carbine

Vanguard has brought Warzone players two meta assault rifles already as both the STG 44 and the Cooper Carbine have proved to combine the reliability, firepower and accuracy to be the best AR in business, depending on who you ask obviously.

Although, other weapons from previous COD titles haven’t skipped a beat either as the XM4, the FARA 83 or the AK-47 from Cold War are still considered to be some of the top guns in the game.

A-Tier

• EM2
• C58
• Grav 
• M13
• BAR

As often as we see some of the Vanguard exclusive playlists throughout the season it is always good to have a backup plan if you haven’t collected your loadout in a match and going with the BAR assault rifle is a great decision.

The C58 has been nerfed slightly as its recoil deviation and magnitude have been slightly increased. We have to wait and see how this translates exactly to the game but it does endanger its position in this list, especially with the arrival of the KG M40.

B-Tier

• FFAR 1
• RAM-7
• QBZ-83
• CR-56 AMAX
• AS VAL
• Kilo 141
• ITRA Burst
• Fedorov Avtomat
• Volk
• KG M40

We have waited for the CR-56 AMAX to do the quality jump for quite some time but that moment has not arrived just yet although it is still a really fun weapon to toy around from match to match.

The KG M40 is the newest assault rifle to join the roster and as we mentioned, it is described to be a slightly more powerful Cooper Carbine, although we would like how that feels in-game before we put it on the upper tiers, with that being said we are excited to try it that is why it get listed in our B-tier.

C-Tier

• AN-94
• NZ-41
• Groza
• FN Scar 17
• FAL (Assault Rifle Bravo)
• AS44

None of the assault rifles in the lower tiers has received a buff for the start of Season 2 which gives us no reason to move them from where they are now.

In this section particularly, we strongly recommend against building a loadout with any of these weapons but if you are respawning from the gulag and you have to choose between staying with your 1911 handgun or going with the NZ-41 by all means take the AR.

D-Tier

• Oden
• FR 5.56
• AK-47 (MW)

We really want to like the Oden AR but it is just so unreliable that we ofter go with our plain fists and hope for the best than carrying any of these awful weapons. 

Of course, maybe one day Activision surprises us a really buffs one of these guns and it makes it out of the hole, but for now, both the C and D tiers remain intact.

And that's it, we've come to the end of our assault rifle tier list for Warzone Pacific Season 2. As we continue playing the different playlists, we will make sure to adjust as needed, especially when it comes to Vanguard guns.
