Call of Duty: Warzone’s map Verdansk could be about to undergo a massive overhaul, according to reports.
After opening the bunkers in Warzone earlier this week, Activision recently sent out a mysterious push notification on the Call of Duty app.
The message appears to be a warning of an unknown threat making its way to Verdansk, mentioning someone called “TARGET DENVER” although it’s unclear who this is.
A mention of a date however appears to indicate some event is happening today (Thursday 21st May), which reads: “Timing of a meeting unknown – suspected for 21 May.”

So what could this event be? According to VGC, sources have stated Activision are planning a map revamp which will be triggered by a nuclear warhead discovered in a secret bunker – in a similar vein to Fortnite’s black hole transition to Chapter 2.
It certainly makes sense considering the emphasis on bunkers, while it would also tee up rumours of the next Call of Duty title revolving around the Cold War.
Players have already discovered what lies in the mysterious bunker thanks to some camera glitch tricks, proving there’s a nuclear warhead in the game.
So is Call of Duty: Warzone about to get a nuclear makeover? Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for when Activision usually makes announcements at 6pm BST.
