We are, of course, talking about the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta, which will feature across multiple platforms and have an Early Access option.

How to Join Modern Warfare 2 Beta

Dubbed as an "Open Beta", your first taste of Modern Warfare 2 will arrive before the game's release date of 28th October 2022. The goal of the Modern Warfare 2 Beta is for players to "provide essential feedback to help ensure the best Day One experience possible when the game launches."

Everyone and their cat will be able to join the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta across all platforms available. You simply need a Call of Duty account linked to your gaming platform of choice to join once it releases.

At the time of writing, the exact content of the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta date is unknown. We expect it to feature some new modes and a handful of maps to test, just like in Vanguard. Some Call of Duty fans, however, will want Early Access to the Beta!

COD Modern Warfare 2 Beta - Early Access & Platforms

One caveat is that if you purchase a physical copy of the game via a participating retailer, you will need to add your Modern Warfare 2 Early Access Beta code. This is a 13-character code that will be provided (likely via email) and that you will have to redeem via this page.

Remember, PlayStation gamers will receive Early Access to the COD Modern Warfare 2 Beta even earlier, five days before all other platforms.

Speaking of platforms, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta will be available on the following gaming devices:

• PC via Steam or Battle.net.
• PlayStation 4 and 5.
• Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta - Release Date & Schedule

The Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta will be split across two weekends, during which players can enjoy the impressive beta content and reap its in-game rewards.

The first Beta weekend will become available exclusively to PlayStation 4 and 5 console players and runs from Friday, 16th September 2022 at 10 a.m. PT | 1 p.m. ET | 5 p.m. GMT until Tuesday, 20th September 2022 at the same time.

The second Beta weekend will be accessible to all players, regardless of platform; this will run from Thursday, 22nd September 2022 at 10 a.m. PT | 1 p.m. ET | 5 p.m. GMT until Monday, 26th September 2022 at the same time.
