At release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 isn't without its flaws. For example, an unlimited Tactical Sprint exploit was found on the first day following the game's release. Now, it appears that Modern Warfare 2 players on PlayStation consoles are missing Vault Edition items, as well as the Oni Operator.
If you are one of these players, we've got you covered. This guide explains the steps you should take to claim your Hiro Oni Watanabe Operator skin, as well as the missing Vault Edition items, with ease, on both PS4 and PS5 consoles.
How To Get Missing COD MW2 Vault Items & Oni
If you should have access to the Vault Edition items or the Oni Operator, or both, but you don't see them in Modern Warfare 2 when launching the game, the first thing we suggest is closing the game and relaunching it, maybe even turning your PS4 or PS5 off and on again.
If turning it on or off again doesn't work, you need to Restore Licences on PS4 or PS5.
In the early hours of the morning on 28th October 2022, Infinity Ward did acknowledge the issue, as you can see via the tweet below.
PlayStation users missing the Oni Operator or Vault Edition items will need to restore their licenses. Please follow the path below and restart your game:— Infinity Ward (@InfinityWard) October 28, 2022
Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses
The process is quite easy to accomplish, but it is important to note it is a bit different on PS4 compared to PS5, and there's a final step Infinity Ward didn't mention in their tweet.
Use the steps below to Restore Licences on your PlayStation console and get your missing COD Modern Warfare 2 rewards.
Restoring Licenses on PS5:
- Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licences.
- Select Restore and wait until the operation has been completed, then try accessing your content again.
Restoring Licenses on PS4:
- Go to Settings > Account Management > Restore Licences.
- Select Restore and wait until the operation has been completed and try accessing your content again.
If you still have issues claiming the Oni Operator and Vault Edition items for Modern Warfare 2, head back to Account Management and make sure your PS4 or PS5 is activated as your Primary console for the device restart and repeat the process outlined above.
