Modern Warfare 2 Players Are Getting False Permabanned For No Reason

Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has had quite a rocky and tumultuous start after debuting on 28th October 2022. In particular, players worldwide have experienced various issues with the game, from bugs and client crashes to now alleged false bannings, making the game unplayable.

Despite Infinity Ward claiming to be "investigating" and resolving multiple issues, players are frustrated over the seemingly unending waves of problems spoiling their Modern Warfare 2 gaming experience. One of the most recent and commonly encountered issues is reports of players getting false permabans under the pretense of cheating in Modern Warfare 2. 

Modern Warfare 2 Players Are Getting Permabanned

Mostly everyone was expecting Modern Warfare 2 to have some issues with its launch day. Still, none can deny that the multitude of problems the game's experiencing is unfathomable and frustratingly annoying. 

From players being unable to play the game because of their Nvidia drivers malfunctioning to others only playing one match per hour due to client crashing, Modern Warfare 2 is not doing a great job of providing a pleasant gameplay experience.

And frankly, the range of these issues goes on and has continued going. That said, another problem has arisen, and it's nothing compared to the frustratingly annoying crashes or bugs players have been encountering. This time, it's reportedly the false banning of accounts, forcing players out of Modern Warfare 2 and stopping them from playing the game permanently.

Initially reported by Jake Lucky on Twitter, hundreds of players have allegedly been facing false bans in Modern Warfare 2, presumably due to the ongoing technical issues within the game.

Accordingly, Jake Lucky said that there's allegedly a "serious issue" going around involving falsely and permanently banning accounts for cheating. More shockingly, attempts by players to appeal these bans were being instantly denied.

It's not hard to believe some players might be cheating. However, to know hundreds are being banned, with all of their appeals immediately denied, suggests that the problem might be connected with the multitude of other technical issues Modern Warfare 2 faces.

We are disabling attachment tuning until further notice to investigate crashes for users with 5 attachments tuned. If you currently have a tuned attachment equipped, you will need to unequip and reequip it to use your loadout.

That said, there's no telling for sure what's happening right now to these reportedly falsely banned accounts or perhaps what might be causing it. Infinity Ward is investigating all of Modern Warfare 2's technical issues and attempting to solve them.

However, it'll likely take some time before any answers are given and the game returns to a healthy, balanced, and playable state. Until then, stay tuned for more information from Infinity Ward.
