Will Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Have Zombies?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is the upcoming mainline entry in the long-running FPS franchise. MW 2 is making some radical changes to the Call of Duty formula, such as adding a third-person mode on certain game modes.

Speaking of game modes, Modern Warfare 2 is also bringing new high-octane game modes like Knockout and Prisoner Break and classic ones like Domination and Ground War. Some fans may also be wondering whether the infamous Zombie mode is coming to the latest Call of Duty title or not. 

No Zombie mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (For Now) 

Unfortunately, there will be no Zombies in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Infinity Ward confirmed the same during a Q&A session with Venture Beat early in 2022. The lack of a Zombie mode in Modern Warfare 2 shouldn't surprise veteran fans since this is a pedigree of Treyarch and its long lineup of Black Ops titles.

While this news may be disappointing to some, thankfully, Modern Warfare 2 will come stacked up with a bunch of other game modes at launch.

And it's possible the developers could have changed their mind, as some leaks have suggested there could be some sort of Zombie content coming eventually.

Modern Warfare 2 Zombies Leaks

As reported by Charlie Intel, one Reddit user (Chicken769) appears to have posted an interesting new image that shows some sort of round-based zombie mode on the Modern Warfare menu.

Of course, it's possible this image has been Photoshopped and doctored to look real. For now, take it with a pinch of salt, even if you really would love to see zombies come to Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer game modes at launch

Below is the list of all the multiplayer game modes confirmed to be coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 at launch.

• Domination
• Hardpoint
• Invasion
• Ground War
• Knock Out
• Prisoner Rescue
• Search and Destroy
• Team Deathmatch

While fans may recall the likes of Ground War and Team Deathmatch, Prisoner Rescue and Invasion are new modes that were popular in the Modern Warfare 2 beta. 

As mentioned above, all these modes will be available at launch, so those who missed out on the beta will have the opportunity to try them before the end of the year.
