The Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 update has arrived and signals the end of an era after Raven Software announced that it will soon retire its popular Verdansk map. Beyond this, there is a slew of new content, such as revamped POIs, a brand-new battle pass, and new Operators.
There are also five new weapons, including the 410 Ironhide shotgun, Grav assault rifle and Battle Axe melee weapon, which were released at launch, as well as the LAPA submachine gun and Hammer & Sickle, which will be released later this season. Finally, there is, of course, the usual weapon balance and attachment changes.
Raven Software contends that the meta is in a good place and did not make any balance changes to weapons in the Sniper or Marksman weapon class, but may fine-tune certain weapons as the season progresses. With that said, here's our tier list of the best Sniper and Marksman Rifles to use at the start of Warzone Season 6, ranked from best to worst based on the current meta.
Warzone Season 6 Sniper Rifle & Marksman tier list
Sniper or marksman rifles are long-range weapons that can and will destroy opponents, should you pick the best ones. Not sure which ones are right for the job? Don't worry - that's where our sniper and marksman rifle tier list for Warzone Season 6 comes in!
Description of the tiers
- S-Tier: The best of the best for lovers of long-range engagements. These sniper or marksman rifles don't even need all the best attachments to make their bullets sing.
- A-Tier: While perhaps not considered the best, these weapons absolutely shred enemies to pieces and are incredibly strong and viable choices to use.
- B-Tier: These weapons require the perfect loadout to compete with players wielding S- or A-tier weapons.
- C-Tier: Useful in certain situations with the perfect loadout, these sniper rifles aren't all that great.
- D-Tier: The trash tier. Don't pick up these weapons, even if there aren't other options.
Sniper & Marksman Rifle tier list
There are 16 sniper rifles in Warzone Season 6. While we endeavour to always have our tier lists as accurate as possible, keep in mind that these tier lists aren't an exact science.
The developer can, however, choose to either nerf or buff weapons throughout the season as well. When this occurs, we will update this list.
The Kar98k is still the best sniper rifle to use in Warzone Season 6, provided you have the skill to wield it. In the previous patch, it received improvements to its firing recoil behaviour and continues to melt enemies with its one-shot killing power.
The K31 Swiss and HDR are other elite options, given their reliability and high damage output and excellent bullet velocity.
- ZRG 20mm
- SP-R 208
Although the AX-50 has comparable damage to the HDR, it's held back its significantly slower bullet velocity, which ultimately doesn't quite make it S-tier material. It is, nonetheless, an excellent weapon to use, thanks to its one-shot lethality.
The ZRG 20mm is another fantastic sniper rifle with the fastest bullet velocity in its class. It packs decent damage but has a slow fire rate, which puts it in the A-tier for now, with the SP-R 208 marksman rifle.
- LW3 Tundra
The LW3 Tundra remains on our B-tier list for now. While it is a worthy contender to A-tier weapons like the ZRG 20mm and SP-R 208, it requires a strong loadout to truly shine.
- Pelington 703
- Rytec AMR
- R1 Shadowhunter
We're really not sure what to do with the Rytec AMR and really don't feel like it even belongs in this weapon class. Other weapons in this tier, like the Pelington 703 or SKS, are decent at best but really should only be considered under exceptional circumstances.
- MK2 Carbine
We would strongly advise you to avoid these weapons unless you want to meme with the Crossbow, or you're just a mad lad and want to troll kids in-game.
