Hardened Leather is an item that can only be crafted once you’ve reached Level 60 in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery, providing protective padding that can help stop you from getting mauled by the many wild beasts roaming the Exiled Lands.

Beyond this, Hardened Leather is particularly useful, as it is a key component of many items and armor like Medium Cap and Harness. However, this guide will focus on how to craft and use it in Conan Exiles.

How To Craft Hardened Leather In Conan Exiles

Hardened Leather is a necessary material needed to create strong armor, but your Toolsmithing will first need to be ranked Level 3 or higher before you can begin crafting it.

To get base Leather, you need to farm large animals like Rhinos, Elephants, or Bears. They will provide you with Thick Hide when using your skinning knife on them.

Hardened Leather Ingredients in Conan Exiles

Here are the resources needed to make Hardened Leather: 

• 2x Alchemical Base

• 5x Oil

• 5x Leather

• 2x Thick Leather

The first two materials are relatively straightforward to gather. You can craft Alchemical Base with 2x Silver Dust, 1x Gold Dust, and 2x Ichor in a Firebowl Cauldron. Oil can be crafted with a Fluid Press Station using Fish.

However, before making Thick Leather, you must first convert base Leather at an Improved Tannery Station. If you don't know how to do this, you will need to build a Tanners Table; this requires 100x Wood to craft. It should be noted that you need to be at Level 60 to use this Table.

It's important to note that once you have unlocked your Tanners Table, under Feats in the Armor Tab, you will have to unlock Exile Epics. This will allow you to craft various items using Hardened Leather.

• Perfected Heavy Padding: Requires 42x Hardened Leather, 14 Elephant Hide, and 7x Twine.
• Medium Cap (Epic): Requires 1x Perfected Medium Padding, 45x Iron Bar, and 20x Hardened Leather.
• Medium Harness (Epic): Requires 1x Perfected Medium Padding, 45x Iron Bar, and 20x Hardened Leather.
