We all know that Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) has some extremely expensive skins, and while thousands might already seem like way too much for pixels, the biggest trades can go over $1 million. No, the title wasn't a type; a trade completed, where a person bought a specific, rare AK-47 skin for over $1 million.
To be precise, it is the StatTrak Factory New AK-47 Blue Gem pattern 661. Back in January 2024, it was reported that someone found one and that this is the first confirmed appearance in 10 years! That's how rare it is, so getting one from a trade-up contract or a case opening is a statistical anomaly.
As reported by Jake Lucky, the deal was brokered by skin traders Sam (roflm0nster) and zipeL (zipelCS). It is the most expensive CS2 skin sold publically, but not the most expensive one out there, apparently.
The buyer's identity was not revealed, and neither was the final price. However, we know it was above $1 million, and the seller did reject $1 million bids.
Sam (roflm0nster) took to X to explain, as many CS2 fans are wondering exactly how much the StatTrak Factory New AK-47 Blue Gem pattern 661 did sell for, stating:
Not at liberty to disclose buyer or exact amount. What I can say is that $1m offers were rejected multiple times. Make your own conclusions
Since the amount was not disclosed, your guess is as good as ours. We can say, however, that this shouldn't inspire you to spend your paycheck on opening cases, as the chances of getting one of these skins are astronomically low, to the point where you probably have a bigger chance of winning something in a lottery.
